Timeless Backyard Wedding in Rhode Island — Vanessa Alves Photography

It was a picture-perfect day in Rhode Island, and I had the honor of taking the trip from Boston to document this stunning & timeless backyard wedding for Jess & Jeff.

The day started at the NYLO Providence Warwick Hotel, where they got ready in separate rooms. The hotel provided the coolest backdrop for their first look & portraits, with its industrial-chic decor and stunning views of the city - it gave a touch of modern to their couple photos. The hotel’s outdoor patio was absolutely perfect for them to share their first look and read their vows to each other. So many tears were shed. Such a good moment just for them!

Now.. I obviously HAVE to give a moment for Jess’s pearl beaded bridal cape. Just stunning?!? And as a talented artist herself, she nailed HER OWN Hollywood glam makeup & hair. Flawless. And her looks paired with Jeff’s sleek white tux and black tie - it was a *chef’s kiss*.

The ceremony and reception took place at one of their friend's home in North Kingstown, RI - which was transformed into a magical wonderland for the occasion! The backyard was the perfect setting for an intimate ceremony with the stunning greenery as the backdrop. Jeff rode his mom’s vintage MG car to the ceremony and made a stunning entrance with her! Jess chose to carry a beautiful arch with flowers instead of a bouquet. I love little well thought details like these.

Honestly, one of my favorite parts of the day was when we did post-ceremony portraits at the property during sunset/golden hour! Pinch me - it was so beautiful! I found the most magical little pockets of light and the vintage car made it’s appearance again - transforming their portraits into a whimsical 1960s movie. I could cry.

And when it was time to party, they delivered it l the best way possible! With a tented dance floor, hilarious speeches, pizza for dinner and Jess’ dad playing a song for them! The DJ kept the party going and it was a night to remember.
